This project ("Grounded") is currently operated by an individual creator ("we", "us"). You can use this page to understand how we handle your information.
What we collect
We believe in strict data minimization. We distinguish between data needed to improve the app, and your personal phone usage data.
- App Usage Data: We collect anonymized analytics on how you interact with the Grounded app (e.g., button clicks, navigation within our app) to help us improve the user experience.
- Crash reports: Anonymized crash logs to help us fix bugs.
- Email address: Only if you optionally provide it for support or feedback.
What we DO NOT collect (Screen Time Data)
We strictly do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal screen time data. This includes which apps you use outside of Grounded, how long you use them, or your web browsing history. All app blocking logic happens locally on your device.
How we use your information

What we don’t do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing.
Service providers
If we use trusted services to store or send emails (for example, an email provider or analytics provider), they will act as our processors and may only handle your data on our instructions and for the purposes described here. We keep your email until you request deletion. If you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal record to honor the request.
Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)
Grounded is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this app or submit any personal information. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Apple Screen Time API / Family Controls
Grounded utilizes Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls) to facilitate its core app-blocking functionality. In strict accordance with Apple's developer guidelines, we do not transmit any data obtained from this API off your device. All restrictions and schedules are managed locally on your device in a secure sandbox.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International users
Your information may be stored and processed in your country and/or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate protections when information is transferred.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as we develop Grounded. If changes are material, we’ll update the “Effective” date and, where reasonable, provide additional notice.
